Not that you can see a lot yet, but it makes me happy to see lovely purple flowers springing forth. The flat, darker green plant is Ceanothus hearstorium ("Hearst's Ceanothus"). You can also see sprouts of various kinds, some of which are starting to put on true leaves.
Oh! And those other penstemons that are budding up? Well, they to are starting to bloom!
